UPDATE — Sept. 1, 2026: Dallas County has now confirmed one 2026 postmortem case in which cychlorphine was detected.

“1 confirmed case,” Dr. Sara K. Dempsey, chief of forensic chemistry at the Dallas County Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences, told The Redemption Project.
